As lifts should not be used in the event of a fire, do you have a plan for evacuating someone with a mobility-related disability?
This easy-to-use emergency evacuation chair is equipped with many safety features and, most importantly, provides people with limited mobility and an enhanced opportunity for escape in an emergency. The Evac chair provides Safe, Fast and Reliable Emergency Evacuation.
It is a compact, sturdy and easy-to-use evacuation chair. The open sides of the Evac chair are designed for people with limited mobility, and the design also assists in transfer from a wheelchair. The passenger is secured by Velcro straps which wrap around the torso and lower legs.
Completely stable and self-supporting on flat surfaces and during descent. It’s slow descent speed and the braking system allow a small attendant to easily evacuate a larger person securely and maintain full control.
Evac chairs should be kept in any multi-storey building where persons with disabilities live, work, or visit.
The Evacu tracked chair comes with a training manual and cd, a cover, maintenance check sheet, sign and hooks to hang the chair on the wall and meets the European Standards C.E. Includes Delivery and installation.
FireCheck Annual Maintenance Contract From £55-00 + VAT.
Evac Chair should be regularly serviced and maintained to ensure its safe operation. This requirement is included within the Regulation.
To help clients meet this legal requirement, FireCheck offers an annual service contract.
In addition to annual service, the contract also includes one additional call out to the site during the year.
Under the Equality act 2010, it is unlawful to discriminate against any person regarding any disability they may have. This includes the evacuation of your premises in the event of a fire.
Being left behind in a stairwell or refuge whilst other colleagues are leaving is not only harmful but is a clear breach of legislation which could result in legal action being taken against you.
