Fire Extinguisher Servicing

Whenever we quote for the servicing of fire extinguishers, we will always give an “all-inclusive” price. This means that the price quoted is the price you pay; many extinguisher companies quote a very low price for “servicing” they then charge you extortionate rates for tamper tags O rings etc., ensuring you pay a lot more than you expected.

Fire Risk Assessments

All employers are now required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment.

In the past, employers could rely on a Fire Certificate to feel that they complied with legislation, but the recent trend has been toward self-assessment. This has become crystallised in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, which came into effect in October 2006.

Our Fire Risk Assessment is divided into areas:

  • Fire Safety Order 2005 carry out a fire risk assessment
  • Provide and maintain to the extent that it is appropriate, determined by the fire risk assessment
  • This means detecting and giving warnings in case of fire
  • Means of escape and emergency lighting
  • Fire safety signs
  • Firefighting equipment
  • Monitor and review the risk assessment and revise as appropriate
  • Inform staff or their representatives of the risk
  • Plan for an emergency
  • Provide staff information and training
  • Nominate a person to assist
  • You will receive a clear report showing what action you need to take

A comprehensive Report and Action Plan are provided detailing any significant findings and classifying them according to the level of risk, showing who is responsible and the degree of urgency with which they should be addressed.

As you would expect, we have experience and carry professional indemnity insurance.

Our reports are easy to follow and very user-friendly.

Safety Signs

Every business owner knows they require safety notices as part of their Health and Safety procedures so that people can find what they need in an emergency quickly and easily. The questions are, what are the best types of signs, and where are the best places to put these signs?

Firecheck can supply all your signs to comply.

Signs must be used, where necessary, to help people identify escape routes and find firefighting equipment and emergency fire telephones. These signs are required under the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 and must comply with the provisions of those Regulations.

For a sign to comply with these regulations, it must be in pictogram form. The pictogram can be supplemented by text if this is considered necessary to make the sign more easily understood, but you must not have a safety sign that uses only text.

What are the Best Fire Safety Signs for My Premises?

Firecheck is happy to advise any business, large or small, on their fire and safety signage. We carry stocks of all fire and safety signs.
